Horror Genre

The horror genre usually has a generic setting, character and plot. These are used to create you're typical horror story.

Settings:
A typical horror genre setting is usually consist of somewhere dark, cold, late at night and sometimes in bad weather. They also take place somewhere isolated and out of the public eye. such as, graveyards, abandoned buildings, forests, and old school/hospital, an attic or basement or a mental institution.


Characters:
Victims are usually are weak people that may be stranded or alone, such as women, young females, children and are usually dressed in vulnerable clothing. The villains are usually spirits ghosts zombies vampires werewolves clowns or supernatural beasts. The hero is typically a man.


Plot for a horror story:
  • Family move into a house which is haunted by its past residents.
  • A car breaks down late at night in the middle of no where there is no phone reception or people to help.
